This is a movie that was realised in 2007. It is based in the first novel of Philip Pullman^s trilogy His dark materials and was directed by Chris Weltz.
The plot is about a orphan girl, Layra Belaqua , who exists in other dimension or a paralel world , something like that. well, in this world , people has a deamon , some kind of animal , that it always was with you and if it die you die. thgis girl live in Jordan collage and she only has her uncle Lord Asriel who is like a scient or something who is investigating about dust , and in the beggining of the story he leaves to teh north pole to keep this investigation.
while his uncle was in his trip Layla meets Mrs. Coulter , who later offers to Layra to be her assintant. after that Layra discovers that his friends Roger and Billy Lacosta were kidnapped by Mrs Coulter , and Layre escapes and is saved by the Gyptians, that they are like pirates, well with her alethiometer which is magic, Layre knows where are her frinds and she goes to recue them , in the way she saves a polar bear whichi becomes her friends and lee Scoresby who is aeronaunt, also she knows the witches.
together save their friends. But also her uncles was kidnapped and she has to recue him.

The story is very interesting , well i love fantasy movies and this is a perfect movie of that genere.
